Recipes for Harmonious Living:
Room Freshener and RoseWater Shampoo

Room Freshener
Ingredients:
4 oz of unscented clear glycerin soap
2 tsp. Rubbing Alcohol
2 Tbsp. Fragrance Oil
Food Coloring
2 4oz Canning Jars
Sea Shells, Flowers, or Herbs (optional)

Melt the glycerine soap in a small pan over low heat, or you can melt it in the microwave for 30 seconds, then stir, if it is not fully melted heat again for 10-15 seconds and stir. When it is fully melted, gently stir in the lcohol, fragrance and food coloring. Too much stirring, may cause air bubbles. If you wish to add seashells, flowers or herbs, place them in the jar and then pour the soap mixture over them. Let this set for two hours. When it has
completely cooled and hardened, place a circle of fabric over the mouth of the jar and screw on the ring canning jar lid.

RoseWater Shampoo
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp Soapwort root, or mild soap flakes
1 Tbsp Borax
1c RoseWater
1 tsp finely ground rose petals (optional)

Boil the rosewater and then remove it from heat. Mix in the soapwort, petals and borax. Stir this well.Place the mixture in a tightly sealed container and allow it to infuse and cool. When it has completely cooled it is ready for use. Homemade shampoo is not as sudsy as store bought shampoos, but it does clean the hair very well.
