Her interest in the Snake Goddess was spawned through the work of psychologist Jean Shinoda Bolen, specifically her book Goddesses in Everywoman: A New Psychology of Women. Bolen talks about the importance of reclaiming the power of the snake, which served as a symbol of the Goddess in early times.
