Myrkrida is a witch and Cella student who lives in California. She found her name in Patricia Monaghan's The Book of Goddesses and Heroines. It means the "dark-rider," which seemed to fit her, since at the time she first became active in women's spirituality and the Craft, she lived a long way from all her companions. So while the others were already tucked into bed, Myrkrida was still driving home in the night. In addition, she often thinks murky thoughts and is frequently in the dark about things, and is always hanging out at the edge between the firelight and the forest. Myrkrida produces poems, paintings, polychrome gourds and general confusion. |
