An Inner Journey for Winter Solstice
through the Darkness of Mother Earth
Searching, searching for that which is lost,
We call to the Dark
We ask it to release
The Light we long for
The magic that illuminates our hearts and minds.
Through the labyrinth we travel
Each with our small ray of light
Casting a shadow,
Together more shadows
Into the Dark
Where life hides, waiting
Waiting to spring forth
Waiting for the return of the Light.
Spiraling round and down
We step with our thoughts,
Our reasons and intentions,
Our wishes, our sadness and joys,
Spiraling still, to the center,
To the cave where that which we've lost
We discover, is not lost, but merely asleep.
We create it as we wake it
With our single small flames
Which join to become the One that we seek,
And as we return
And retrace our steps once again
The small lights we have joined
To become the large One,
Follow the path along with us,
The Light, once again with us;
And the Earth shares our joy
And celebrates with us
The turning of time,
The return of the Light,
The end that is the beginning,
The return of the Sun
From Its long winter sleep.
