To celebrate the beginning of our fourth year in cyberprint and other transitions, we're inaugurating a Volume Four Fundraiser.

If you're reading this page, chances are we need to thank you in advance for making a tax-exempt donation to MatriFocus by clicking on the "Make a Donation" button on the right.

From our proto-issue (Beltane 2002, Volume 0 Issue 1, through the end of our third year in cyberprint), MatriFocus has been in the currency of the Gift Economy. We're happy here. We'll be offering free subscriptions to our zine -- free access to writings, art, ideas -- 'til the cows come home.

During this time we've been supported energetically by our subscribers, financially and energetically by the women of Matrilocal Circle, and materially and energetically by the generous contributions of cash, time, energy, skill, thought, writing, editing, coding, designing, and organizing of numerous women, and, in the case of art, of some men.

Matrilocal Circle is a legally tax-exempt (501)(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our membership has been primarily local/regional to Madison Wisconsin, but MatriFocus has been taking our vision and work beyond the MidWest since 2002 -- our contributors, subscribers and other readers come from most of the "time zones" superimposed, conceptually, over our spinning planet. We're looking forward to growing more diverse, globally and otherwise, as we hurtle through time, space, and the Web.

We know you love our work, and we're hoping that many of you will be interested in, and able to, join the local women of Matrilocal Circle in supporting this Zine. The goals (and associated needs) of our Volume Four Fundraiser are above right. This year's fundraiser focuses primarily on tools. Future fundraisers will see, in their place, the addition of a charitable fund to support women in need (a long-time practice of Matrilocal Circle) and also a research fund. More exciting details to follow. Stay tuned!
